Electronic Wallet

Description

This document presents how IOM Mexico implemented a cash-based intervention through the delivery of cards called Electronic Wallets. This intervention brought humanitarian assistance during the Venezuelan refugee crisis with the intention of reducing the vulnerability and improving the conditions of migrants. Collaboration with social actors such as the Venezuelan diaspora allowed for the provision of direct assistance, guidance on immigration procedures, and information on other social services. This action is framed within the Response Plan for Refugees and Migrants of Venezuela, whose objective was to strengthen the infrastructure of governments and, in cooperation with the international community, respond adequately to the Venezuelan migration flow, supporting the efforts of countries and civil society.
