Study on Reintegration: Migration and Cities | Guatemala Report
In order to better understand the contexts of return and reintegration in Mexico and northern Central America, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has conducted a number of studies at the country and regional levels. The present report contains the results of the study conducted with migrants and staff of institutions involved in the provision of reintegration services in Guatemala, where the high flow of remittances has generated a dependency that has not been possible to solve with structural changes that facilitate other development figures and income. The objective of this report is to contribute to strengthening reintegration processes in Guatemala, so that the country can make better use of the learning and experiences of its returnee compatriots to generate development, and the returnees will find it easier to travel the difficult road from forced return to full reintegration.
