This document is a summary of the main findings from a series of studies conducted during 2013 and 2014 in relation to migration of Haitians heading to Brazil. Since 2010, there has been an increase in the number of Haitian migrants heading to the United States, France and Canada.

This document was prepared based on the results of the workshop “Regional Workshop on Policies, Practices and Conclusions for the Return, Reintegration and Integration of Migrants”, (September, 2013), in San Jose, Costa Rica within the framework of the Regional Conference on Migration.

The concern to ensure respect for the human rights of migrants - regardless of their migratory status - has been a constant in the countries that are members of the Regional Conference on Migration (CRM), evidenced in multiple resolutions and initiatives over the years.

The aim of this paper is to study the well-being of migrants in Central America, North America and the Caribbean through the economic, professional, community and social prisms.

Research on human trafficking, especially for the purpose of labour exploitation, is more important than ever.

This publication identifies and quantifies the effects of migration and return migration on the economy and development of Trinidad and Tobago.

Migration is a key factor in major development questions and solutions, and it is essential that it be incorporated into the future development agenda. The authors of this volume highlight numerous reasons why migration should be factored into the post-2015 development framework. 

This document represents an effort by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to present tools for those responsible for the development of public policies and programs aimed at addressing human trafficking.
