Empowering Indigenous Communities for Sustainable Livehood

Description

This experience highlights an initiative carried out by IOM Guyana, which consisted of enhancing the knowledge of 200 farmers in order to establish small vegetable and poultry farms, contributing to a community initiative for the school nutrition program in the communities

For this purpose, governmental coordination and partnership efforts allowed for the creation of a steering committee composed of representatives of the People's Council, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and IOM, as well as the implementation of the two poultry and agricultural projects, where farms were built and trainings were held.
