Event Memory on the First Congress on Women in Migratory Contexts
The Regional Conference on Migration (RCM), as a regional consultation process committed to the Human Rights of migrants, has promoted various initiatives throughout its 23 years of existence. “Migrant women” is a current theme with a very significant impact on regional migration dynamics, and requires strengthening from the regional and internal levels of the Member Countries of this conference.
The States that make up this conference have identified that the role of women in migratory dynamics is increasingly relevant and has taken different facets when migrating, since they not only undertake the journey alone, but also accompanied by their children and daughters; or, they are established at the destination and subsequently make every effort to achieve family reunification.
