The concern to ensure respect for the human rights of migrants - regardless of their migratory status - has been a constant in the countries that are members of the Regional Conference on Migration (CRM), evidenced in multiple resolutions and initiatives over the years. This concern has historically evolved in response to the growing complexity of migration flows in the region that brings new protection and assistance challenges.

This document was prepared on the basis of the results of the Workshop "Integration, Return and Reintegration of Migrants" (September, 2013), in San José, Costa Rica by the Regional Conference on Migration. It was prepared with the technical and financial support of the International Organization for Migration. This document was approved by the Regional Conference on Migration at its 19th Vice-Ministerial Meeting, held in Managua, Nicaragua, on June 26 and 27, 2014.

It also seeks to be a reference for a change in the vision and approach of migrant children and adolescents, not only in the region but worldwide.

The publication was prepared within the framework of the "Return and Reintegration Project in the Northern Triangle of Central America" and its objective is to provide facilitators with a methodological guide for organizing and implementing local psychosocial care groups, that also involve institutions with a presence in the territory. The aim is to provide the participating population with assertive coping tools that allow them to design their own reintegration route into the community from their personal experiences.

The Work Plan on the Smuggling of Migrants of the Network of Liaison Officers on Combating the Smuggling of Migrants and Trafficking in Persons of the Regional Conference on Migration, aims at guiding and promoting regional cooperation to prevent and combat the smuggling of migrants, while protecting the rights of smuggled migrants, in particular those who are victims of related crimes.

In order to better understand the contexts of return and reintegration in Mexico and northern Central America, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has conducted a number of studies at the country and regional levels. The present report contains the results of the study conducted with migrants and staff of institutions involved in the provision of reintegration services in Guatemala, where the high flow of remittances has generated a dependency that has not been possible to solve with structural changes that facilitate other development figures and income.

Despite the growing feminization of migration, the invisibility of women as active subjects in migration processes, which is based on prejudice, persists, norms and practices that perpetuate female subordination and discrimination in all areas of society by generating inequality. This document responds to the commitment of the eleven Member Countries of the Regional Conference on Migration (RCM) to promote, protect and guarantee the rights of migrant women in the region, in accordance with their international commitments.
