In Panama, the DTM was activated in 2019, in response to the irregular arrival of groups of extraregional migrants from the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, through the Darién National Park on the border with Colombia.  The DTM is implemented in Panama with the aim of collecting, analyzing and disseminating critical and multi-level information on mobility, vulnerabilities and needs of populations on the move, enabling decision makers to provide context-specific assistance.
