In recent years there has been a significant increase in the flow of Venezuelan citizens to different countries of South America, Central America and the Caribbean, including an increase in the arrival of Venezuelan population in the Republic of Panama. In this context, IOM, UNHCR, UNICEF and the OAS conducted a joint quantitative and qualitative data collection study on the characteristics, conditions and needs of Venezuelans who have arrived in Panama since 2014. The main objective of collecting and analysing this information is to provide government, humanitarian and other relevant actors with the information required for the definition and promotion of strategic actions in the area of protection, humanitarian assistance and the social and economic integration of the Venezuelan population in Panama.
