Emergency response to tropical storms during the COVID-19 pandemic

Description

During the year 2020, El Salvador was impacted by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the effects of tropical storms that surged during the second semester of that same year. In response to this situation, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the support of the U.S Aid for Interational Development (USAID), as part of the Integrated Response on Migration in Central America (IRM), contributed to the coverage of basic universal needs of people affected by the pandemic and by tropical storms, everything in close coordination with State Institutions and organizations of the civil society.

  • 7,166 returned migrants and people displaced internally because of the disasters
