Issue of neighboring border transit cards to children and teenagers in border areas

This good practice developed by IOM El Salvador, aimed to facilitate the transit and migratory control of children and teenagers who reside and transit between the communities of Perquín and Arambala in El Salvador and Nahuaterique in Honduras, issuing neighboring border transit cards to allow them to transit in a Safe and Orderly manner. 

To accomplish these objective partnerships were developed with the General Directorate Of Immigration and Immigration (DGME), and a dissemination and communication strategy was driven to promote and implement the initiative. 

Main Actions
  • Elaborating a strategy with the State's institutions for implementing the initiative
  • Establishment of a communication route and dissemination of the neighboring border transit cards
  • Description of the neighboring border transit cards fairs and their main results
