Forum Theatre Play: "Behind the Barrier"

Description
Meet our friend Mario Jesús, a young Honduran who was forced to leave his home due to rejection from some family members because of his sexual orientation. This forum theatre play on migration shows how irregular migration exposes people to greater vulnerability to various types of exploitation, abuse, and violence. This initiative presents intersectional stories like Mario Jesús's, using art as a powerful platform to raise awareness, inform, and delve into the risks associated with irregular migration, such as human trafficking and smuggling of migrants. The script of "Behind the Barrier" is an adaptation of real stories shared by the group of young actors through a creative conceptualization process. This play, implemented by the Western Hemisphere Program was carried out within the framework of the "Think Twice" strategy, from which educational, leadership, advocacy, and communication activities with a social change focus are developed.
